If Only It Could Be

I was reading about the Pope this morning, and had this mini conversation with my friend:

Obear29: I wish that when the Pope, raised his hand and called for Peace in Iraq, the Holy Land and in Tibet, that it would just happen

B: like bewitched?

Obear29: as if he were the Alan Greenspan of Peace, and people would say "well hell, if the Pope says let's have Peace, then let's have it"

Happy Easter

The Crazy That Is My Life

I belong to a user group called Fourth Tuesday. A professional women's group. I swear to you, had I not seen this is in my email box, I wouldn't have believed it. Last names have been abbreviated.

Hey Jeri, Shelly R. tells me you are dating Lorraine (sp). I met her when she came to our first few 4th Tuesday NW events. I've guess you've kept her busy as I have not seen her for several months. Just wanted you to know that she is absolutely one of my favorite people. Always kept us in stitches and was my only smoking buddy to boot. I'm moving to Tampa for a job on April 1. Shelly always knows how to find me and I'd love for ya'll to come visit. I'll miss seeing you around as our lives have crossed paths so many times at events.

I attached my photo cuz I realize you might not remember who I am by last name. Take care,

Carol C.

Uh... A), I don't know a Shelly R. B)I've never dated someone named Lorraine. C)I'd never date a smoker. D) I've been single for some time.

But YEE HAW DAMN it's nice to know I have a social life, even if it's not really mine.

How It Should Be

I am so sick of reading how young punks prey on the elderly. I applaud this man, because I'd do the same exact thing. Unfortunately, my Investigator friend in Mississippi told me yesterday that a 92 year old man, who lives a few doors down from her grandmother was murdered for his car and the dumb ass kid who did it, was still driving the car 4 hours later. That old man would've given that kid the keys, I'm sure of it!

If a DeKalb County home invasion suspect thought an elderly Tucker couple would make an easy target Tuesday night, he thought wrong.

Now the suspect is dead, and DeKalb police say the 81-year-old homeowner will not face charges for shooting and killing the man.

DeKalb police spokesman J.T. Ware said that about 11 p.m., the unidentified suspect, who appeared to be in his 20s, broke into the home on Zemory Drive, in a neighborhood off Lawrenceville Highway.

"The suspect, as he was entering the location, made enough noise to arouse the suspicions of the homeowner, and he was able to locate his weapon and load it," Ware said.

The homeowner confronted the suspect, and after a brief struggle, shot and killed the man, Ware said.

He said the homeowner, whose name has not been released, was hospitalized for treatment of wounds suffered during the struggle, but is expected to be okay. The man's 78-year-old wife was not injured.

Ware said police do not plan to charge the homeowner.

"He defended his home, defended his wife," Ware said. "He did what everybody would hope to do in a situation like that."

Atlanta Tornado

In the entire history of Atlanta, a tornado has never touched down in the city.
